Toy Kingdom Trip

This afternoon, I accompanied my niece to buy a remote car in SM Toy Kingdom. Actually, she is a 2-year girl who wants to play this for-the-boys toy.

But as a girl, she is also fond of dolls and other for-the-girls toys.

I got a chance to take every moves she made full of amazement and excitement seeing those toys on display.

I remember that when I was still a child, I also loved this toys. How I wished to have them all but due to monetary constraint, those were just a dream.

The Little Princess

When I was in Taytay, Palawan last March, I got a chance to touch and eat the cashew fruit. That was my first time to appreciate such inverted fruit. I thought, only the nuts were edible but I was wrong.

My friends in Taytay Palawan served the stuff for me.

They were so enthusiastic to let me take a bite since it's my first time. It was so delicious indeed.

 Now, I have added cashew fruit not only the nuts to my favorite fruits list.  Do I need to come back in Palawan and satisfy my craving? Hmmm, I want to and make revenge.

Just like how we eat some tropical fruit, we sprinkle it with condiments such as salt and vinegar. If you want some spicy, you can make the way you want to relish it.

According from Wikipedia , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cashew. The cashew is a tree in the family Anacardiaceae. Its English name derives from the Portuguese name for the fruit of the cashew tree, caju, which in turn derives from the indigenous Tupi name, acajú. It is now widely grown in tropical climates for its cashew nuts (see below) and cashew apples.

Cashew nuts are the main crops in Palawan particularly in Roxas and Taytay. Almost in the whole island, cashew trees are just everywhere. So, if you love to eat this nuts, Palawan is the place where you can find it at  affordable price.

The Greenest City

I'm talking about Palawan. Every distance that your eyes can reach, green is the color to behold. The place is beautifully surrounded with natural, fresh and old trees. You can always speak out how great are the creatures of God. 

The first time I came in Palawan particularly in Puerto Princesa, taking pictures was not much done because of a busy schedule. Well, except in Christmas Eve where I spent it with my former classmates in Elementary grade. With her family, we went to Baywalk- a place obviously along the bay. I didn't get the chance to appreciate the place and ( besides it was a man made venue) I was having a chit-chat with my friendyou know, catching up things on how it has been and then. reminiscen old classmates, friends and places was always the cream of a crop in a conversation.

Back in place, Palawan is now the largest city in terms of land area. It is a nice place rich in natural resources. No wonder it is awarded as the cleanest and greenest for 2 or 3 consecutive years.

My first time to step on the island was last December 2010. I stayed for 10 days. I spent my Christmas as well and a day after christmas, I flown back to catch a high school reunion the next day.

I thought I would not have a chance to come back to Palawan anymore, but too soon but I did. Just a month after I came back for the second time. With camera on hand, I did try to take shot every thing that my eyes have seen and appreciated.

I was able to travel the North part of the Island from Puerto Princesa up to El Nido. Before reaching the latter, I had dropped by Roxas and Taytay as well.

Now, I have a chance to come back in Palawan with a revenge to take pictures in every place and every creatures I meet. Oops, this blog is still under construction... Check out later for more photos...

The Butterfly Garden

This morning, I got a chance to drop by the beautiful garden of butterflies. It is located at Sta. Monica, Puerto Princesa; just a 15 minutes ride from the city proper.

I was so amazed of those beautiful butterflies flying around from one place to another. It made me sick to catch them with my camera unmoving. But still, I patiently did it with this inverted position of a big butterfly, much bigger than my palm.

Other creatures that has caught my attention besides butterflies were the scorpions and hermit crabs inside the glass box. The crew said that I can touch them but I did not participate.

My time was so limited and I got only few photos but I promised myself to comeback and take time to get some photographs... The place has started to be crowded with people mostly are students from other islands, doing some educational tour, perhaps.  Before I end, I am still showing some photos here.

Fuerza de Santa Isabel in Taytay Palawan

It is a symbol of rich historical heritage of Taytayanons. The fort was molded and wrought of the contour of a solid rock.

The fort was built in 1667 and completed as a stone fort in 1738 under the lead of a Spanish military engineer.

To protect the inhabitants from the attacks of the Moro pirates from Sulu, this fort was built. The fort is quadrilateral with bastions and garitas at the corner.

When you go to Palawan, don't miss to visit the one of the historical place, The Fort Isabelle as fondly known.

The Charity Concert

I haven't notice that it was almost a week since the charity concert was over. I am guilty to know that I haven't posted any update in my blog.

When it comes to attendance, it was not that succesful as expected but when it comes to supporter it was satisfying. Though, some had promised to give but it seems nothing has landed in my palm. Although, definitely some will give even the show is over because they believe that charity doesn't end there.

I would like to thank the band "Bird's Eye" and "Jive5" for giving their talents and time to perform in that evening.

I will have a follow -up show  and that's the one you need to watch out because it is meticolously planned out from the lesson learned in the past event.
